Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. “I regret for Musavat Party’s decision to establish separate agitation group for referendum, chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (AXCP) Ali Karimli told APA. He said he discussed this issue with Musavat Party leader and proposed to establish united agitation group of political parties and civil society institutions in Azerbaijan. “We think it is important that democratic forces in the country are represented in the united agitation group. It is important, first of all, for mobilization of the civil society, political forces and democratic section. However Musavat passed a different decision”. Karimli said Musavat Party left doors open for the consultations and they could resume the talks.
Karimli said leaders of Azadlig Block, where AXCP was represented, held joint meeting with the Public Union for Azerbaijan and decided to choose active way of struggle for the counter-campaign. “We didn’t decide to establish any agitation group. We consider that the people, who are against the constitutional changes and consider it as a threat for the republican system in the country, should unite in the same agitation group”.
AXCP chairman said the talks would be continued with other opposition parties.
