Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. The relations of Azerbaijan with the U.S. and Israel were discussed at the meeting of the Dallas Regional Office of the American Jewish Committee, Azerbaijani Embassy in the U.S. told APA.
Attending the meeting, Counselor of the Azerbaijani Embassy in U.S. Fakhraddin Ismayilov gave general information about Azerbaijan to the participants. The traditions of tolerance prevailing in Azerbaijan for many centuries were emphasized. It was noted that Azerbaijani population lives in mutual understanding regardless of religion, language and ethnic origin.
Talking about the relations of Azerbaijan with the U.S. and Israel, Ismayilov noted that these multifaceted relations are enhancing and the existing cooperation is based on the strong friendship between the two peoples, as well as productive trade and economic relations. He underlined that Azerbaijani soldiers served shoulder to shoulder with U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Azerbaijan played an important role in provision of transport between allied forces and Afghanistan.
The role of Azerbaijan in ensuring energy security of Europe and Israel and further prospects were also noted at the meeting.
The participants of the meeting were informed about the grave consequences of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Following the report, questions of the participants were answered, the discussion was held.
