Baku – APA. Co-founder and Director of U.S. Azeris Network (USAN) Badir Mammadli, Director of Washington Center for Azerbaijani Studies (WCAS) Gadir Shiraliyev and acting Director of U.S.-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce, Susan Sadigova have met with U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Richard Morningstar. State Committee on Work with Diaspora told APA that the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, development of US-Azerbaijani socio-cultural relations and bilateral relations in other spheres were discussed at the meeting.

Leaders of Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations expressed their belief that U.S. President Barack Obama's new administration and the newly appointed Secretary of State John Kerry would work more actively towards the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The leaders expressed their concerns about the direct U.S. assistance to the Armenian-occupied Nagorno-Karabakh, biased positions of Senators Robert Menendez and Barbara Boxer on this issue and their confidence on further annulment of the 907th amendment.

Morningstar expressed his gratitude for their efforts and hope to meet with the representatives of the Azerbaijan Society of America in the near future.
