Georgian President visits Gardabani in connection with armed attack on Azerbaijani family

Gardabani. Nizami Mammadzadeh – APA. Georgian President Mikhael Saakashvili visited Azerbaijani family that was attacked some days ago in Jandar village of Gardabani region, APA’s Georgian bureau reports.

Saakashvili was interested in situation of Yasin Mammadov and his family members. Thereafter, Georgian President told journalists that 9 crimes were committed in this region during 2003-2012, while in the last 2 months of this year 12 crimes were committed against Azerbaijanis.: ‘This is very bad. Georgian police must operate intense. If there is need, emergency state should be declared in the country. I am ready to help in this issue’.

Note that 5 armed persons attacked 49-year-old Yasin Mammadov’s house in Jandar village of Gardabani region. They tied hands, feet and mouth of Mammadov, his wife Saadat and 20-year-old son Babek Mammadov. After torturing family members, the criminals demanded money and jewelries. The family was obliged to give them 15,000 laris. The operative group of Gardabani Police Office detained the criminals in a short time. A criminal case has been launched on the fact, investigations are underway.
