Azerbaijan begins Eurovision 2012 national selection tour

The candidates dividing to 8 groups will participate in live programs on the Public Television and Radio during eight weeks, public relations department of the TV channel told APA.

First program will be performed at 22.00 on Monday. Ramin Guliyev, Canana Zeynalova, Orkhan Mirzayev, Kenan Gadimov, Anastasia Bedritskaya, Amil Gojayev, Orkhan Karimli, Elnara Hasanova and Semra Rahimli will compete in the first program.

The pretenders will demonstrate their vocal opportunities and stage performance in the national selection show. The selection rules were not changed. The winner of the weekly competition will be selected according to SMS-voting results and juryâ€™s opinion. The winners of eight weeks will participate in semifinals and those, who will pass to final competition, will run for the right to represent Azerbaijan at the Eurovision 2012.

57th Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Baku on May 22, 24 and 26, 2012. Azerbaijani representative will have a right to participate in the final directly.
