Baku. Ulker Gasimova – APA. Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism denied the false information released in “Fars” agency and “Tehran Times” Mass Medias of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Spokesman for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Zohra Aliyeva told APA that during the successful days of interesting exhibitions, movie screenings, literary and scientific meetings, unfortunately , the Iranian Mass Medias like “Fars” agency and “Tehran Times” attempted to distort the true facts known to the world from literature and cultural history while illustrating this significant cultural event. Though “Tehran Times” wrote that Nizami Ganjavi lived and worked, died, as well as his mausoleum is situated in Azerbaijan’s ancient Ganja city, it presented the great Azerbaijani as an Iranian poet. “Fars” news agency also made the similar mistake.

Aliyeva said that owing to it, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, expresses its protests and disappointment over false reports in Iranian press bodies, on the basis of undeniable proofs of history, literary sources, world community, states that Nizami Ganjavi was not Iranian but Azerbaijani poet, was born and lived in Azerbaijan’s ancient Ganja city and worked there: “Name of Nizami Ganjavi, his immortal heritage has always believed to Azerbaijan during 9 centuries, Azerbaijani people gave the great poet to the world civilization. We believe that “Fars” agency and “Tehran Times” don’t express the position of Iranian society and the irresponsible attitude of any news organization to the press laws can’t shadow the future development of Iran-Azerbaijan cultural relations”.
