Baku Music Academyâ€™s students to be elected to European Unionâ€™s â€œCulture Orchestraâ€

Baku. Lachin Sultanova â€“ APA. 25 students of the Baku Music Academy after Uzeyir Hajibayli will pass the selective round today and tomorrow in order to participate in â€œCultureâ€ Orchestraâ€ project initiated by the Polandâ€™s Adam Mickiewicz Institute, Academyâ€™s rector Farhad Badalbeli said at press conference, APA reports. He named the â€œCulture Orchestraâ€, established in the European Union within the framework of Polandâ€™s chairmanship, a very important initiative: â€œThis initiative will allow our young performers to perform in the worldâ€™s best halls and take lessons from the best musiciansâ€.

Polish ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Labenda said that the project would be long-termed. He said that the project was financed by Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Orchestraâ€™s director Pavel Kotla said that the orchestra which will be formed by the musicians of Poland and â€œEastern Partnershipâ€ countries will consist of 104 persons. The orchestraâ€™s launch is scheduled for July 1, 2011 and it will be touring all spring in Europe.
