Azerbaijan – Iran special working group on cooperation in many spheres of culture to be established
According to the spokesman, It was stressed an importance of Azerbaijani Cultural Days in Iran and the special role of the mutual cultural exchange. At the meeting the parties discussed cooperation between the two countries in such cultural fields as book publishing, film, fields of publishing, hosting of exhibitions and art workers’ tour. During the meeting, Iran and Azerbaijan reached an agreement on joint film production as well as establishment of Azerbaijan – Iran special working group for implementation of the protocol on cultural cooperation till 2013 between Azerbaijan and Iran, in this regard the relevant instructions were entrusted. At the same time, as a result of the negotiations the parties reached an agreement to publish and distribute the works of Azerbaijani and Iranian classics in Azerbaijani and Persian.
I. Humbatov said that on September 26 the delegation of Azerbaijan had a meeting with Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyed Mohammad Hosseini and Iranian vice president and Chief of the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization Al Hamid Bəqayi. At the meeting A. Garayev brought into consideration of the Iranian side that Azerbaijan organized its Cultural Days in Iran first time after restoration of the independence, and he also stressed the importance of mutual cultural events.
The minister drew Iranian counterparts’ attention to that the cultural days were being held in Tehran and Tabriz, and he noted that he wish the following events would be held in the cities of Isfahan and Ardabil. Talking about the perspectives of development of Azerbaijani – Iranian relations A. Garayev said that in comparison with the previous year, each year a number of tourists coming from Iran to Azerbaijan increase about 10%: "The conditions, corresponding with international standards, have been created for effective resting of the tourists".
Speaking about the importance of expanding the cultural and tourism relations between two countries the Iranian officials attach a great importance to establishment of good relations with Azerbaijan, they also brought into notice that the multilateral relations in this sphere rapidly develop.
