Solemn opening ceremony of Azerbaijan’s Cultural Days hosted in Tehran

Baku. Ulker Gasimova – APA. The inauguration of Azerbaijan’s Cultural Days has been held today in the capital of Islamic Republic of Iran, Tehran city, APA reports quoting Intigam Humbatov – press secretary of the Ministry of Culture & Tourism.
According to the spokesman, Iranian president’s advisor, Chairman of the Cultural and Islamic Relations Mehdi Mustafevi, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garaev, Iranian Minister for Islamic Development and Culture Seyid Mohammad Husseini delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. The speakers noted an importance of Azerbaijani Cultural Days in Iran as well as necessity to broaden and strengthen the cooperation in the field of cultural heritage between two nations. With great regret it was stressed that Azerbaijan’s cultural and historical monuments are barbarously razed to the ground in the occupied territories and the homeland of Azerbaijani Mugam - Shusha is still under occupation. I. Humbatov said that the representatives of the diplomatic corps and foreign guests attended at the ceremony.
The artistic and literary part followed after the official part. The Azerbaijani musicians appeared on stage with a special program. The performance of Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra named after Gara Garayev, People’s Artist of Mensuma Ibrahimova, Anar Shushaly and others were met with applause. I. Humbatov also said that about 70 photos of Azerbaijani photographers as well as books were shown at the opening ceremony. Tomorrow the Days of Azerbaijani Culture will continue in Tebriz city.
