"COP29 is perhaps the largest platform of debate in the world in terms of its results and impact," Deputy Minister of Energy, Chief Executive Officer of COP29 Azerbaijan Elnur Sultanov said during the panel session on "Tackling the impacts and risks of climate change: our perspective outlook on COP29" within the framework of the conference titled "Raising Ambition, Delivering Action: COP29 Sustainable Business Forum" held in Baku, APA reports.
"As we are aware, Garabagh and East Zangazur zone aim for net zero as a region," he added.
The Deputy Minister noted that the climate solution should become a development model: "There is now a legal basis for becoming an active consumer in Azerbaijan. For example, a company owner can install a 100-kilowatt solar panel on its premises. This is completely legal. Or let's talk about energy efficiency. Efficiency is a process equivalent to building dozens of additional stations. In this direction, an energy efficiency department has been established in the Ministry of Energy."
