The US military has destroyed five Iranian oil tankers following ballistic missile attacks on US Navy vessels, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced, APA reports.
“On September 8, CENTCOM forces destroyed five Iranian oil tankers after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps conducted two ballistic missile attacks against US Navy ships over the previous two days,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
According to the command, the Kaviz, Charminar, Horizon 1 and Riesco tankers were destroyed in the Gulf of Oman, while the Derya was targeted near Iran’s Kharg Island.
CENTCOM also said US forces had destroyed three Iranian oil tankers on September 5.
