Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it has successfully carried out ballistic missile strikes against two US Navy destroyers, APA reports, citing Iranian state radio.
According to a statement by the IRGC, its Aerospace Force targeted the DDG-119 and DDG-53 warships, which it said were equipped with cruise missiles and the Aegis combat system.
The IRGC claimed that the vessels sustained significant damage in the strikes.
There has been no immediate independent confirmation of the reported strikes or the extent of any damage to the US warships.
