Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump have held a telephone conversation, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, the telephone conversation lasted exactly one hour and was constructive and candid in nature.
Putin and Trump positively assessed the results of visits by US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow and Kyiv, and agreed that such visits would continue.
According to Ushakov, Trump spoke about his desire to end the conflict in Ukraine. In particular, Trump is interested in achieving progress on the Ukraine conflict during his presidency.
Ushakov noted that Putin highly appreciated Trump’s mediation efforts. Specific measures that the Americans could take to end military operations were discussed.
During the telephone conversation, Putin said that Russia has no hostile plans against Europe.
“It was noted that this is simply a pretext for increasing military spending,” Putin’s aide said.
