According to a source, Messi has reached an agreement with the team's current owners and will acquire 100% of the shares without the involvement of third parties. The business project is said to be driven by the Argentine's desire to invest his legacy in football. The club, which plays in the second-tier Spanish league, is based in the province of Alicante, near Catalonia, where the striker plans to live after retiring from professional football.
If the deal goes through, Messi will acquire a second team in 2026. In April, it was announced that the Argentine had become the owner of Cornellà, which is based in Catalonia.
