“Baku Port, as the only port and gateway to Europe on the western coast of the Caspian Sea, has great development potential,” Vice President for External Relations of China’s Lianyungang Port Jiang Wei told journalists, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, close partnership relations have been established between Lianyungang Port and Baku Port since mid-2018.
“In 2024, we signed a framework agreement on Trans-Caspian transportation. In 2025, we further deepened our cooperation and held detailed discussions,” Jiang Wei said.
He noted that great importance is attached to cooperation with Azerbaijan Railways CJSC and Baku Port.
“Today, I met with Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov and discussed the relevant issues in detail,” the Chinese official added.
