The death toll from severe flooding that struck Nepal’s Rasuwa region near the Chinese border and surrounding areas on August 26 has risen to 1,403, APA reports.
According to the latest figures, search operations are continuing for 6,150 people who remain missing, while 13,742 people have been rescued from the disaster-hit areas.
Dozens of bridges have been destroyed by the floods, while roads across the affected region have sustained severe damage.
Helicopters have also been deployed as part of ongoing search and rescue operations.
