Final declaration of Eurasian Islamic Council’s 8th meeting condemns Armenia’s occupation policy against Azerbaijan

Final declaration was adopted at the meeting attended by heads of more than 100 religious organizations of 30 countries. On the suggestion of Elshad Iskandarov, chairman of the State Committee on Work with Religious Organizations, the first item of the final declaration also condemned the occupation policy of Armenia against Azerbaijan.

“We deem it our duty to call on the international community to fulfill its humane duties, all religious organizations irrespective of their faith to help ensure peace and security in order to achieve ceasing of bloodshed of Muslims in the Middle East, Syria and Palestine, occupation of Azerbaijan’s Nagorno Karabakh region by Armenia. Not only politicians, but also every honest man bear the responsibility for this issue. We call on the world community to take steps arising from this responsibility. We wish the ceasefire declared in Gaza on 21.11.2012 to turn into a lasting peace,” the declaration says.
