Prosecutor's Office appeals to CEC to lift Kocharyan's immunity

Armenia's Prosecutor General's Office has submitted a motion to the Central Electoral Commission seeking permission to initiate criminal prosecution against the country's second president and leader of the "Armenia" bloc, Robert Kocharyan, APA reports.

According to the information, in addition to Kocharyan, the CEC has also been asked to lift the immunity of parliamentary candidates Asatur Kocharyan and Ruslan Barseghyan.

It should be noted that some time ago, former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan attempted to leave the country through Zvartnots Airport. According to reports, law enforcement authorities prevented him from doing so and blocked his departure from the country.
