The first flight carrying Azerbaijani pilgrims has departed for Azerbaijan following the completion of the Hajj pilgrimage.
The information was confirmed to APA by Vusal Jahangiri, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Caucasus Muslims Board and Head of the Hajj Electronic System.
According to him, the aircraft is expected to arrive in Baku at 12:30 p.m. local time.
“A total of 180 pilgrims will return to Azerbaijan today. The second flight carrying pilgrims will depart at 3:50 p.m. local time,” Jahangiri said.
He also noted that additional flights transporting Azerbaijani pilgrims will operate on June 7 and June 9, with two flights scheduled each day.
It should be noted that a total of 1,150 Azerbaijani citizens participated in the Hajj pilgrimage this year.
