“We pay great attention to the development of the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions. The liberation, reconstruction of these territories and the creation of conditions for internally displaced persons to return to their native lands are of the nature of a national idea for our people," Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, said at the “Azerbaijan Investment Outlook Forum” held as part of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Annual Meetings in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
“We are pleased to note that the Islamic Development Bank was the first international financial institution to allocate a dedicated credit line for the reconstruction of an irrigation canal in Karabakh. This is another indication of the strength of our partnership, and we highly appreciate this support.”
He also stated that the government is creating attractive conditions for investors in the liberated territories through extensive tax incentives, modern infrastructure and state support. Currently, two major industrial parks are operating in those territories.
“A similar preferential logistics regime is also being applied in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. This region is the only territory of Azerbaijan that simultaneously borders Türkiye, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Armenia,” he said.
