Baku. Ulker Rashidgizi – APA. More than 400 hotels are functioning under the license in Azerbaijan, said Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev to journalists, APA reports. He said about 50 new accommodation facilities are inaugurated every year.
Garayev also touched on the price rises of hotel services due to New Year holiday: “The market regulates these prices. Identification of star categories of new hotels will pave the way for the regulation of the prices in a more civilized way. We are working in this direction. Prices fell by 15-20 % in Azerbaijani hotels in the past two years. We are working on the regulation of prices in accordance with the legislation.”
The Minister also added that the number of tourists traveling to Azerbaijan has increased by 7-10 % this year compared to last year. He said the final number of tourists traveling to the country would be specified on February 3 next year.
