Budget revenues from taxes on sports and betting games are projected to increase by more than AZN 6 million next year, APA reports.
This is reflected in the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027,” which was submitted for discussion at the Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee of the Milli Majlis.
In 2027, revenues from simplified tax through the State Tax Service in Azerbaijan are projected at AZN 467 million, which is AZN 38 million, or 8.9%, more than the current year's forecast and AZN 51.1 million, or 12.3%, more than the actual figure for 2025.
The increase in projected revenues from this source is due to the expected nominal growth rate of non-oil GDP of 9.1% in the current year, based on the country's medium-term social and economic development forecasts, as well as the fact that tax payments from sports and betting games are expected to be AZN 6.4 million, or 5.8%, higher next year compared to the current year's forecast.
