Murtaz Zodelava and Lasha Beridze, who were sentenced to seven years in prison in connection with a case involving the organization of a coup in Georgia, have been released, APA's local bureau reports.

They left the correctional facility under a plea agreement based on their admission of guilt.

Under the agreement, both individuals were sentenced to three years and one month in prison. They served one year and one month of their prison sentences in a penitentiary institution, while the remaining two years were imposed as a suspended sentence.

In addition to Murtaz Zodelava and Lasha Beridze, plea agreements have also been reached with two other individuals in the case, Guri Zhvania and Irakli Chkhvirkia, who were sentenced to five years in prison. They will be released in the coming days.

It should be noted that a mass protest was organized in Georgia on October 4 last year, the day municipal elections were held. Protesters attempted to storm the presidential palace. Along with five members of the protest's organizing committee, hundreds of demonstrators were detained in connection with the mass unrest.

Murtaz Zodelava and Lasha Beridze, members of the organizing committee, were charged with attempting to seize and block strategic facilities and facilities of special importance, organizing and leading group violence, and making public calls for the violent overthrow of Georgia's constitutional order.
