The Imarat Complex in Aghdam is no longer merely a historical monument but has become a place visited by people and tourists, Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, told journalists, APA reports.
He stated that one of the main objectives of the restoration work carried out in the liberated territories is to bring historical and cultural heritage sites back to life.
"Using the Imarat Complex as an example, we can say that it is now a reserve. A large number of tourists visit it throughout the day. Foreign guests also come to visit the site. They learn about the history of Karabakh, the Karabakh Khanate, and the Imarat Complex," Emin Huseynov stated.
The Special Representative noted that this approach will also be applied to other historical and cultural heritage sites. According to him, the goal is not only to preserve restored historical sites but also to make them part of public life and tourism.
E. Huseynov emphasized that the restoration of sites such as the Imarat Complex in Aghdam demonstrates the importance Azerbaijan attaches to protecting cultural heritage in its liberated territories.
