According to APA-Economics, as in 2011, this year nobody has selected this direction for winter holidays from Azerbaijan.
‘As you know, last year political situation in Egypt was unstable. But the tension receded a bit. However, recently the situation became unstable again. That is why Egypt isn’t an interesting direction for Azerbaijani tourists’, one of Azerbaijani leading tourism agencies told APA-Economics.
Moreover, AZAL planned to organize charter flights to Sharm El Sheikh on December 29. But as there was no demand for this direction, the company cancelled Baku-Sharm El Sheikh flight.
‘The average price for single travel package for 1-week rest makes AZN 800-900. It is not expensive. Absence of demand for this direction is connected with unstable political situation in Egypt’, told the tourism agency.
Note that Azerbaijani tourists prefer to spend winter holidays in UAE, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Georgia, as well as several European cities. Though most of Azerbaijani population celebrates New Year at home, a part of them will exult the holidays in the regions.
