Yanar Dagh State Reserve devolved on Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s Cabinet has passed a decision to devolve Yanar Dagh State Historical and Monumental Reserve to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Yanar Dagh (Burning Mountain) is a mountain that has been continuously on fire for one thousand years. The natural gas vents ensure that hot flames roar out of the sides of this hill even when it rains.
According to the decision, the bounds of the reserve will be brought in line with the plan scheme together with the State land and Cartography Committee, National Academy of Sciences and Absheron Executive Committee.
Prior to this, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources was responsible for the reserve.
