The resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is biased and one-sided, and this piece of paper no longer has any significance for us, Samad Seyidov, Chairman of the International Relations and Interparliamentary Relations Committee of the Milli Majlis, said in a statement to APA.

The goal is to create tensions in the region again
Samad Seyidov said that another document full of anti-Azerbaijani lies and slander has been adopted at PACE: "These steps once again demonstrate how one-sided, driven by double standards, and biased that organization is. In fact, the speech delivered by a member of the Ukrainian delegation during the adoption of this resolution put everything into perspective. It was stated in the speech that it should be said openly that if you are talking about human rights, then human rights issues exist in all countries, and it is absolutely wrong to use them as a political argument. The most regrettable point is that Azerbaijan is creating peace in the South Caucasus today, while you intend to undermine this peace. You are interfering in these processes and trying to disrupt them," he said.
The Chairman of the International Relations and Interparliamentary Relations Committee of the Milli Majlis noted that their intention is to create confrontation once again, another war, and once again a tense and dangerous situation in the South Caucasus, and then use that situation to dominate the region, dictate terms, and lecture others as if they were teachers.

European institutions are losing their credibility
"They have never approached this region sincerely, and they are still not abandoning their intentions. However, they must understand that times have changed, Azerbaijan has changed, the region has changed, and Europe itself has changed. Through these steps, they are discrediting European institutions and thereby dealing a blow to Europe's future and attractiveness. Therefore, this piece of paper no longer has any significance for us. Because we expressed our position toward this organization a long time ago, and have suspended our activities there.
It is regrettable that both the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights are unable to find a way out because they have lost their credibility and influence. That is precisely why they adopt anti-Azerbaijani, Azerbaijanophobic, Turkophobic, and Islamophobic resolutions," Samad Seyidov said.

"We know Frank Schwabe's position and intentions very well"
Samad Seyidov emphasized that this resolution serves the interests of certain circles known for their biased stance against Azerbaijan: "One of those individuals is Frank Schwabe. We know the German MP's position and intentions very well. This is no longer a secret to anyone. He has never welcomed Azerbaijan's achievements and progress and has always taken the opposite stance. Even today, he is using his influence to keep that organization under a certain degree of control. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be sufficient will or courage within the organization itself to oppose such approaches. Therefore, the importance, influence, and credibility of this organization have now, to a great extent, seriously weakened," he said.
