The private sector will be involved in the production of high-generation original and elite seeds, APA reports.
This is reflected in the new draft Law "On Seed Production," which was discussed today at a meeting of the Agrarian Policy Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
Under the draft, original and elite seeds will be produced under the supervision of the breeder at the experimental farms of scientific research and educational institutions, as well as at specialized farms that meet the requirements of regulatory legal acts in the field of seed production. Certified seeds will be produced at seed production farms engaged in this type of activity. Breeders may produce original and elite seeds individually or jointly with other breeders in accordance with regulatory legal acts.
