American singer Barklay Nikola Williams among candidates to represent Azerbaijan in Eurovision-2011 â€“ <font color=red>EXCLUSIVE </font>

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova â€“ APA. American singer Barklay Nikola Williams is participating in the national selection for representing Azerbaijan in Eurovision-2011 in DÃ¼sseldorf, Germany in May. APA reports quoting the reliable sources that the American singer came to Azerbaijan some days ago. The American singer participated in a number of international contests. There are famous singers among the 90 applicants. Khayyam Nisanov, Nurlan Novrasli, Emin Nasirli from Azeristar contest, Azad Shabanov, who participated in the national selection last year, Lala Mammadova from Yeni ulduz contest.

Azerbaijani living in Germany Seyran Ismayilkhanov, who participated in the national selection last year, have also applied this year. Famous Azerbaijani composer Rauf Hajiyevâ€™s granddaughter Gunay also intends to represent Azerbaijan in Eurovision 2011. The Azerbaijani living in Finland has applied for the national selection. Young Azerbaijani singer Sultan, who is living in Russia, has also applied for the national selection. Honored artist Aybeniz Hashimovaâ€™s daughter Aynishan Guliyeva is one of the candidates. Reports that peopleâ€™s artist Aygun Kazimovaâ€™s daughter Ilgara will participate in the national selection were not proved. According to the reliable source, Ilgara will not participate in the national selection.

Member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Azerbaijanâ€™s Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (ITV) and the related persons are selecting the representative among the 90 applicants. The first stage of the national selection will start in the first ten-day of November. The candidates qualified for this stage will demonstrate their talent on ITV. Unlike the previous selections, this year the audience will directly participate in selecting Azerbaijanâ€™s representative for Eurovision. The selection will be through the opinion of the jury and televoting.

Safura Alizadeh represented Azerbaijan in Eurovision-2010 in Oslo, the capital of Norway, and took the fifth place.
