Baku. Ulkar Gasimova – APA. Azerbaijani singer and actress Firangiz Rahimbeyova, who is living in the United States for long years, is planning to visit Baku in September. Rahimbeyova gave an interview to APA and presented some photos from her private collection.

- Do you continue your creative work in the United States? If you don’t, can you explain reasons?

- Of course, I am not on the top of popular American culture and cinema, but I have no illusion to be an American pop- or movie star. I am popular in Los Angeles and some cities in the United States among our compatriots and people from other former USSR countries. I am pleased with my creative work. I wouldn’t like to spread rumors in Baku that I can gain large audience in the United States. I am satisfied with a low audience, those who appreciate my work.

- How do you see Azerbaijani cinema, theater and show business from outside?

- I can’t say anything about the cinema because there is no modern cinematograph in Azerbaijan. What about the theater…I don’t know. I was not at home for long years and I don’t watch anything. I can’t find anything about the theater first nights on Internet. I know show business because I can follow it via Internet. This is a stage of development with its shortages and achievements. I believe that everything will be normalized and Azerbaijani musical culture will surprise the world.

- Are you being invited to movie or showbiz in the United States?

- I was invited as an expert to science fiction films “Red Planet” directed by Anthony Hoffman and starring Carrie-Ann Moss and Val Kilmer and “Rollerball” (2002) starring Chris Klein, Rebecca Romijn, Jean Reno and Russian ultimate fighting master Oleg Taktarov.

- Could you establish relationship with the creative people of the United States?

- For the first time I came to America to meet my family, my sister and uncle, but when I returned home I missed them and finally I decided to join them in America. I am an Azerbaijani woman and I grew up according to best traditions of Azerbaijani family. I preferred my family than creative work. I have a beautiful and intelligent daughter and after that we celebrated her wedding I felt that I have a right to go to creative work. My husband also supports me.

- You are in America because of your private life. Do you regret about that?

- No. It was my fate, but I left my heart in Baku. I see my city in my dreams. My family, my relatives are in the United States, but I left my friends and fans in Baku. I am planning to visit Baku in September.

- If you receive an offer from Azerbaijan, will you return?

- This is a hard question for me. I can not return, but I can frequently visit my homeland.

- What are you doing now?

- I am giving concerts before the elite audience. I am recording new songs and working on my new album. I have a little business and I am supporting my husband in his large business. There is a much work.

- Do you work on any new project after Novruz Bayrami project you prepared together with the Azerbaijani Diaspora?

- We are working now on the presentation of Azerbaijani Prize Platinum Disk together with coryphaeus of Azerbaijani music Chingiz Sadikhov, American media magnate, former Baku resident Davidson and with well-known representatives of Azerbaijani showbiz.

- There is an active Armenian Diaspora in Los Angeles. Did you face with any problem with them?

- You know, people in America are living with different principles. This is not a place for clearing up interethnic relations. I think artists are special people and they contribute to peace in the world making people happy with their art.
