Sheikh-al-Islam: â€œIf there is a proposal to visit Karabakh, I will accept it positivelyâ€

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev - APA. â€œI have only principle on Karabakh. It is a return of occupied lands of Azerbaijan. I support the peaceful solution to the conflictâ€, said chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office, Sheikh-al-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh. He said he would accept it positively if there was a proposal to visit Nagorno Karabakh. â€œI didnâ€™t receive a proposal to visit Karabakh yet. I donâ€™t see these visits bad because we are traveling to our lands. Karabakh is ours, but not otherâ€™s. I consider that these visits could be advantageous. I support use of all methods if only Karabakh is returnedâ€. The chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office said he has met with Armenian religious leader since 1988. â€œEven some documents were signed in our meetings. If there are such proposals we will review it. Russian patriarch expected to organize our next meeting in near future. CIS Inter-religions Advising Council will hold its meeting in Baku next April. Armenian religious leader Garagin will also be invited on behalf of me. If he intends he can participateâ€.
Pashazadeh said he would visit Moscow on July 21. â€œA Religious Advising Council under UNESCO will be established there. Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Azerbaijan will represent the Muslim world in that organization. Azerbaijan will also have its representative there. The Council will provide advices regarding the religious and cultural issuesâ€.
Pashazadeh said the participants of the meeting in Moscow would meet with Russian leadership as well.
