"I am proud that our country's unique experience, recognized as a place of interreligious dialogue and interdenominational understanding, is accepted as a model," Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, said at an event titled "Dialogue of Religions: A Roadmap to a Shared Future," held at the Heydar Aliyev Center as part of the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku, APA reports.
He stated that this year's meeting with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV was an event of particular importance in the history of relations with the Vatican, one of the world's leading religious centers.
"Cooperation between our religious centers continues to develop steadily. The Iftar gathering of brotherhood that we jointly organize with the Vatican in Rome has already become a tradition. I would like to share good news with the forum participants: Next year, Azerbaijan, which has hosted two World Summits of Religious Leaders, is expected to host a Religious Leaders' Summit within the framework of our country's chairmanship of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, co-organized by the Muslim Council of Elders," he said.
