Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions begins in Kazakhstan â€“ <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION </font>

The first congress was held on the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2003, the second congress was also held in Astana in 2006. Nearly 400 representatives of more than 60 countries attend the third congress, APA correspondent reports from Astana. Azerbaijani delegation is represented by Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikh-al-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, Deputy Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office, rector of the Baku Islamic University Haji Sabir Hasanli and Chief of the Foreign Relations Department of the Caucasian Muslims Office Mugaddas Payizov. Israeli President Shimon Peres, Turkish State Minister Faruk Celik, UNESCO Executive Board Chairman Olabiyi Babalola Joseph Yai, OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, UAE Religious Affairs Adviser Seyyid Ali al-Hashemi, Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Anhel Moratinos are among the honorable guests.
Honorary President of Pontifical Council Cardinal Roge Etchegarai expressed his opinion about the congress of world religious leaders in Astana: â€œKazakhstan is a country which can be a peace guide in the settlement of the conflicts and an example for that. We need to use Kazakhstanâ€™s experience to prevent religious conflicts in the worldâ€.
