Hidayat Orujov: I am concerned about the state of the mosque of â€œTheology facultyâ€

This is a very serious problem. We should not forget the tragedy that occurred in Juma mosque known as Abu Bakr mosque last year,â€ chairman of the State Committee for Religious Organizations Hidayat Orujov said, APA reports. He said a lot of people gather in the mosque of â€œTheology facultyâ€ and this was inadmissible in terms of security. He said measures are being taken to regulate the problem. Orujov noted that measures are being taken to send a part of believers to other mosques.

Mosque of â€œTheology facultyâ€ is located in the territory of â€œStudents campâ€ of Baku State University. As Abu Bakr mosque and â€œShehidlerâ€ mosque have been closed for repair, the number of people in the mosque of â€œTheology facultyâ€ has recently increased.

Orujov said there are 1750 mosques in Azerbaijan. 24 of them were built by Turkey, 63 Kuwait, 3 Saudi Arabia 1 by Qatar.

Hidayat Orujov said the issue of the religious communities engaged in harmful activity should be reconsidered during the registration.
â€œA number of new documents will be required during the new registration. Legal measures will be taken concerning the unregistered communities,â€ he said.
