First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva shared a video footage of the dialogue between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and the United States of America in New York on her official Instagram page, APA reports.
During his speech, Trump also touched upon the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He noted that he has been working with both Armenia and Azerbaijan on this issue:
"I want to thank you, my friend. 22 years, right? 22 years. You were at war for 22 years."
President Ilham Aliyev thanked the U.S. leader for his mediation:
"Even more. It's been more than 30 years. You performed a miracle, Mr. President. Thank you. It was excellent," President Ilham Aliyev replied to Donald Trump.
Trump invited the Azerbaijani leader to consider the “Abraham Accords.”
Note that on August 8, 2025, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the President of the United States of America, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia initialed the text of the "Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia."
