Azerbaijan has significant energy advantages for establishing data centers and attracting investment in this area, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Department of Economic Affairs and Innovative Development Policy of the Presidential Administration Shahmar Movsumov told journalists, APA-Economics reports.
Shahmar Movsumov noted that the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum is attended by investors from various countries around the world who collectively manage more than $30 trillion in assets.
“Naturally, they are considering all possible investment options in Azerbaijan. We very much hope that such a forum will result in real investment projects. Documents related to investments have already been signed within the framework of the forum, while certain groundwork has also been laid for larger projects,” Shahmar Movsumov said.
Commenting on the large amount of electricity required by data centers, Shahmar Movsumov emphasized that Azerbaijan has an advantage in this regard.
“This is precisely Azerbaijan’s advantage. We have large volumes of accessible and affordable electricity, which could potentially be green in the future,” Shahmar Movsumov noted.
Shahmar Movsumov added that Azerbaijan has significant potential in the electricity sector.
