Investment opportunities and new development prospects in real estate, tourism and urban development were discussed as part of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, held under the patronage of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, APA-Economics reports, citing the Ministry of Economy.
A panel session titled “Emerging Investment Areas: Real Estate, Tourism and Urban Development” was organized as part of the forum.
Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Anar Guliyev addressed the session and provided information on projects implemented in the country in the fields of urban planning and urban development, investment opportunities and approaches to sustainable urban development.
Chairman of the State Tourism Agency Fuad Naghiyev provided information on the development of Azerbaijan’s tourism sector, investment opportunities and measures taken to promote the country’s tourism potential internationally.
The panel session was moderated by Maryam Norouzi, Regional Market and Client Relations Manager at Zaha Hadid Architects.
The session was attended by Montenegro’s Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić, founder of Sea Breeze Emin Agalarov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board Florian Sengstschmid, Head of the Project Management Department for Liberated Territories at the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture Ramil Jahangirov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Avant Group Ali Huseynov, Director at Zaha Hadid Architects Manuela Gatto, Anna Soave, Head of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Office in Azerbaijan, and Special Project Manager at ADEC LLC (White City) Elena Chernova.
The event discussed the regeneration of urban areas and large-scale development projects, as well as attracting investment to the real estate sector and developing multifunctional projects. The participants also exchanged views on smart and sustainable urban planning approaches, the capabilities of international development companies and institutional capital, the formation of investment-ready urban projects and increasing their investment attractiveness.
The participants also discussed attracting investment to the tourism sector, the comprehensive development of tourism destinations, and the establishment of international hotel brands and resort projects.
