The Internet Media Association of Türkiye (TIMBIR) has issued a support statement regarding the snap presidential elections to be held in Azerbaijan on February 7, APA reports.

The particular importance of holding elections in the background of liberation of the territories from Armenian occupation was emphasized.

"These elections will leave a special mark in the modern history of Azerbaijan, which gained independence on October 18, 1991. Unlike the elections at all levels held in Azerbaijan in the last 35 years, the fact that it will cover the all territories of the brother country makes the February 7 elections special. As a result of the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020 and the anti-terrorism operations in 2023, Azerbaijan liberated its lands that had been occupied for more than 30 years and ensured its territorial integrity and sovereignty. This historic success has not only greatly increased Azerbaijan's global reputation, but also created new realities in the South Caucasus region, one of the most complex regions in the world" says in the statement.

In addition, it was also pointed out that the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity was followed by a seriously biased policy against our country in Europe.
