A tanker carrying liquefied gas has been targeted in the Strait of Hormuz, APA reports, citing the naval forces of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to the statement, the vessel named "NV Sunshare" was targeted while attempting to pass through the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz using an illegal route, resulting in a fire in the ship's engine section.
The IRGC emphasized that the United States bears direct responsibility for these escalations.
It was also added that the targeting of vessels using illegal routes would not be limited to the Strait of Hormuz and that tankers navigating such routes throughout the entire region would be pursued.
