Changes have occurred in the operation of Azerbaijan Airlines’ J2-185/J2-186 Baku–Moscow (Domodedovo)–Baku and J2-805/J2-806 Baku–Moscow (Vnukovo)–Baku flights scheduled for October 9 due to restrictions imposed in Russian airspace, the Press Service of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC told APA.
The J2-185 Baku–Moscow flight operated in the morning was forced to land in St. Petersburg.
It was reported that due to the reintroduction of restrictions in the airspace, it was not possible for the aircraft to return to Baku.
“Also, the J2-805 Baku–Moscow flight operated in the morning returned to Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The existing restrictions also affected the timely arrival of aircraft at their destination airports and the operation of subsequent flights. For this reason, the J2-186 and J2-806 evening flights scheduled on the relevant routes were also postponed. Azerbaijan’s national air carrier is closely monitoring the situation and taking measures to provide passengers with the necessary support. Passengers will be informed about changes to the flight schedule through official information channels. The safety of passengers and flights remains the main priority for Azerbaijan Airlines. All operational decisions are made taking into account the existing conditions and safety requirements,” the statement said.
