Azerbaijani Press Council prepares annual report

It will cover all aspects of the councilâ€™s activity. It includes the activity of the Managing Board, Commission for Complaints and other commissions, results of considering the appeals, various projects and other issues. Chairman of the Press Council Aflatun Amashov told APA that the report will also cover problems, ways of their solution, improving the regulation of media-public, media-authorities relations.
â€œThe work plan of the council will cover the proposals, comments and recommendations that will be put forth while debating the report. The report will be made before the founders, members of the Press Council, journalists and public,â€ he said.
Chairman of the Press Council also underlined that considering complaints and appeals of the companies, organizations, officials and ordinary citizens makes up the main part of the councilâ€™s activity.
â€œWe investigated 351 appeals. Most of them were solved in the Secretariat, some others in the Commission for Complaints and Managing Board. 75 references were given and 36 decisions were passed within this period,â€ he said.
The report is expected to be presented in the first half of January. /APA/
