Commission set up to prepare conception for state support to development of mass media in Azerbaijan

According to the chairman, the first meeting of the commission will be held today. He said that along with the members of the Press Council, the working group of the commission also includes economists, lawyers and chief of Presidentâ€™s Office socio-political departmentâ€™s sector Vugar Aliyev.
Aflatun Amashov said that the proposals will again be debated, the documents will be worked out, principles of state assistance to mass media will be determined and ways of solution of other problems will be discussed in todayâ€™s meeting.
â€œWe want Azerbaijani media to be free from economic dependence. The program will mainly cover the issues on improving financial position of the media,â€ he said.
Aflatun Amashov said that the commission will submit the proposals to the Presidentâ€™s Office by early January.
â€œThese proposals will possibly be accepted and the solution of the issues envisaged in the conception will be discussed beginning from early next year,â€ he said. /APA/
