Roundtable “Ways of regulating relations between law-enforcement bodies and mass media” held

A roundtable “Ways of regulating relations between law-enforcement bodies and mass media” was organized at the initiative of Public Union “Journalists in extreme situations” today, APA reports. Chief of the union Firuza Asadullayeva said the event was held in the framework of the two-month OSCE-supported project.
She said a number of events were held in Baku, Gandja and Khachmaz in the framework of the project. The aim of the events is to help improve the relations of law-enforcement bodies and policemen with mass media.
Head of the OSCE Office in Baku Jose Luis Herrero Ansola underlined that the project is of great importance for strengthening the relations between media representatives and police. OSCE representative said proposals were given on continuing activities, establishing public affairs departments in region and city police offices and informing the public after any accidents.
Expert of the project, officer of Interior Ministry’s press service Ehsan Zahidov said the ministry attaches great importance to establishing normal relations with media. /APA/
