Appeal filed against court decision on Ganimat Zahid

An appeal has been filed against the decision of Yasamal district court, which sentenced Ganimat Zahid, editor-in-chief of Azadliq newspaper, to two-month imprisonment, the editor’s lawyer Osman Kazimov told APA. The lawyer said that the editor-in-chief said in the appeal filed to Appeals Court that his sentence is illegal.
Ganimat Zahid faced charges under articles 127 (deliberate causing of minor serious harm to health) and 221 (hooliganism) of the criminal code, due to the incident occurred in front of Azerbaijan Publishing House on November 7 this year. He was sentenced to two-month imprisonment. /APA/
