Court hearing on the case of Eynulla Fetullayev continues

Court hearing on the criminal case of Eynulla Fetullayev, founder and editor-in-chief of Gundalik Azerbaijan and Realny Azerbaijan newspapers was today held in Court of Grave Crimes. APA reports that Eynulla Fetullayevâ€™s lawyer Isakhan Ashurov protested to the expert judgment. The lawyer said that it is not known whether the persons, who judged the article â€œThe Aliyevs wage warâ€ for which Eynulla Fetullayev faced charges, are political scientists or linguistic experts and this causes doubt. The lawyer said the article should be judged by professionals. Ashurov said political scientists Arif Yunus, Eldar Namazov, journalists Rauf Talishinski, Rauf Mirgadirov, Zaur Rasulzadeh also wrote similar articles and that they should also be analyzed. The lawyer noted that some witnesses were mentioned in the criminal cases related to Abulfaz Elchibey, political scientist Rasim Agayev and general Telman Aliyev and petitioned for submitting the list of witnesses of these criminal cases to court. The lawyer underlined the necessity of calling professor Aydin Hajiyev as a witness.
â€œIt was noted that he is not in Azerbaijan now. But it is very important to call him to court,â€ he said.
Isakhan Ashurov also said that the recorded talk between his client and Hajiyev should undergo phonoscopic analysis.
Fetullayev speaking about this momentum of the petition publicized several momentums.
â€œInspector Sahib Alakbarov presented audio writing of the talk he had with professor Aydin Hajiyev in National Security Ministry. There are terrible facts there. The matter is that Aydin Hajiyev was my teacher and visited me at the task of General Farhad Vahabov, head of department National Security Ministry. Farhad Vahabov called Aydin Hajiyev to National Park and said that Eynulla was your student, tell him not to write against government. Otherwise he will suffer. Did he not get lesson from what happened to Huseyn Abdullayev?â€, he said.
Journalist demanded to call Ali Hasanov, head of socio-political department of Presidentâ€™s Office, Shahbaz Khuduoglu, head of â€œPublishing houseâ€ and Natig Javadli, correspondent of â€œGundalik Azerbaijanâ€ newspaper to court as a witness.
Court staff left for meeting for discussing petitions.
After returning from the meeting Judge Mehdi Asadov stated that only of the petitions was-Hajiyevâ€™s calling to court was sustained.
The judge said that the court will take extra measures for his being taken to court.
Following this, witnesses were interrogated. Head of Security department of â€œbp-Azerbaijanâ€ company Eldar Nuruzada, department chief of Mortgage Fund Murad Agamuradov were interrogated due to article â€œThe Aliyevs wage warâ€. The other two witnesses-Intigam and Shahriyar Aslanovs were interrogated regarding sale of â€œGundalik Azerbaijanâ€ and â€œRealny Azerbaijanâ€ newspapers. The court hearing will continue on October 26.
National Security Ministry Head Investigation Department brought charges against Eynulla Fetullayev under articles 214.1 (terror threat), 283.2.2 (stirring up national, racial, social or religious enmity) and 213.2.2 (Evasion from payment of taxes with extraction in large amount of income) of the criminal code. /APA/
