Over the past 20 years, the shallowing of the Caspian Sea in Russia alone has covered approximately 20,000 square kilometers, Russian President Vladimir Putin said while addressing the Caspian Environmental Summit in Turkmenistan, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, the shallowing of the Caspian Sea leads to a decline in investment attractiveness, job losses, and a deterioration in the quality of life of residents in the Caspian regions.
