Supreme Court to consider appeal filed against decision on Samir Sedagetoglu and Rafig Tagi

Appeal filed to the Supreme Court against the decision of Sabayel district court about editor-in-chief of Senet newspaper Samir Sedagetoglu and publicist Rafig Tagi will be considered, the court told APA. Judge Muzaffar Agazade will consider the case.
Rafig Tagi and Samir Sedagetoglu faces charges under articles 283 (stirring up national, racial and religious enmity) of the Criminal Code and Sebayel district court sentenced them to 3 and 4 years in jail correspondingly.
They were sentenced for the article entitled “Europe and we” published in Senet newspaper in November, 2006.
Appeals Court upheld the decision of Sabayel district court.
Rafig Tagi is held in jail #16 and Samir Sedagetoglu in jail #5 in Khalaj. /APA/
