According to the results of last year, the volume of transit shipments between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan exceeded 2 million tons, and in the first half of this year, it surpassed 1 million tons, that this was stated at the 8th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
At the meeting, the opportunities to strengthen partnership between the two countries in trade, energy, industrial parks, transport, business, agriculture, and the Alat free economic zone were highlighted.
Information was also provided about Azerbaijan’s growing economic indicators, favorable business and investment environment, transport and logistics infrastructure capabilities, and the prospects of the Zangezur corridor. The importance of expanding ties among business circles was emphasized, and Turkmenistan investors were actively invited to cooperate.
