Baku Metro infrastructure set for major upgrade under new agreement with Turkish engineering firm

Within the framework of the "State Program for the Improvement of Transport Infrastructure in Baku and Surrounding Areas for 2025-2030", another important step has been taken towards the expansion and modernization of the infrastructure in the Baku Metro, APA-Economics reports.

An agreement has been signed between "Baku Metro" CJSC, one of the AZCON Holding companies, and the Turkish "Yüksel Proje" company, an engineering and design company with international experience, and the implementation of the obligations has already begun.

As part of the agreement, the design of stations Y14–Y17 on the Green Line and B5–B8 on the Purple Line, as well as the tunnels between these stations, is planned. The project also includes the design of the separation of the Green and Red lines at “28 May” station, a transfer chamber at “Icherisheher” station, a return tunnel, and an underground parking facility.
