Azerbaijan and Estonia move to expand ICT cooperation

Baku. Aynur Veliyeva – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov has hosted a delegation led to the country by Estonian Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications Juhan Parts.
With the main focus on the prospects of cooperation, the parties underlined broad opportunities for the further development of relations.
Estonian minister expressed regret that the proposed agreement of ICT cooperation wasn’t signed during this visit.
He invited Ali Abbasov to lead a delegation of ICT companies to Estonia for a familiarization visit.
Ali Abbasov underscored the importance of Estonian experience in Azerbaijan-initiated projects, such as Free Economic Zones, e-government, High-Speed Information Superhighway and so on.
Juhan Parts said there is keen interest in Azerbaijan’s ICT sector and the companies of the two countries should build good cooperation in this field.
At the end of the meeting, Estonian minister presented a Skype video telephone to his Azeri counterpart.
